For 100 years, the Royal Ocean Racing Club has been pushing sailors to their limits in the Rolex Fastnet Race.
In 2025, the centenary edition is the going to be the largest offshore race in the world. And history will be made once again because for the first time, a yacht is taking on the 695-mile challenge without taking a single drop of fossil fuel with her.
SV Nazca is setting out to make history as the first-ever zero fossil-fuel, biocide-free yacht to compete in the legendary Fastnet Race. We will set sail from Cowes on 26 July 2025, around the Fastnet rock in Ireland and finish in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, France.
Over the last five years there have been incredible partnerships formed, expeditions led and demonstrations held that highlight our technological achievements and the ocean advocacy work. With numerous publications now written on the various projects, adventures and the people, this impact has helped influence a change in mindset.
Our purpose is to promote marine conservation and sustainability through collaboration across engineering, adventure, education and science with a network of key partners and sponsors.
This is about exploration, discovery and the people behind it all. We don’t have all the answers, we are here to push the boundaries and see what happens.
If this speaks to something in you, then you’re already part of the story.
The Fastnet Race, it's prestige and it's history draws thousands of sailors, spectators and media outlets from around the world. It's a race which attracts the top ocean racing teams, pitting world class athletes against corinthian seafarers in a gruelling test of endurance, tactics and resilience. But being competitive comes at a cost and many of the fleet will have the backing of sponsors to get them to the start line. You could sponsor them.
Or you could help us write this chapter in Nazca's story. By supporting her, you’re not just supporting another yacht in another race, you’re championing innovation and sustainability, telling the world that you believe in a fossil-free future whilst helping us to inspire the next generation of sailors to prioritise the health of our oceans.
Nazca is a unique vessel and so are you, it's only right that sponsoring her should be an equally unique experience.
Drop us a line and let's chat about what that looks like.
Our sponsors are our partners, helping us to hold up the loud hailer and let the ocean's voice be heard.
